Caribbean & the Corn Islands
When we say the Caribbean, we really mean the Corn Islands. Two unspoilt gems (Big Corn and Little Corn) lying in azure waters 40 miles off the coast of Bluefields, on Nicaragua’s east coast. Note the English-sounding names here. In a predominantly Spanish speaking country, English town names and surnames prevail. Tourism is still in its absolute infancy here, and being here truly feels like trail blazing. The Old Caribbean still lives here – turquoise waters, white sand, excellent fishing, some of the best coral reefs in the hemisphere, and an unhurried pace.
