Day 1:  Fly into Managua and meet our Rep who will show you to your waiting private transfer, who will take you 45 minutes to the city of Granada.  The oldest European city on the American mainland, Granada represents Nicaragua and Central America at its most photogenic. Over the years the gentrification of Granada has produced an eclectic restaurant and bar scene, and numerous little boutique hotels springing up behind the city’s ornate carved doors. The best thing to do in Granada is just to walk around, soaking up the atmosphere. Granada also has easy access to Lake Nicaragua and its Isletas, the breathtakingly beautiful Laguna de Apoyo, a 200m-deep crater lake with “healing waters”, and also the cloud forests of Volcan Mombacho. While here you will stay at El Patio del Malinche for three nights. This is a restored colonial guesthouse in a quiet district close to the center of historic Granada.

Day 2: No visit to Granada is complete without a tour of the city’s beautiful historic center and what better way than by traditional horse-drawn carriage. As you travel around the historic center of Granada you will learn about its fascinating history and observe the outstanding old renovated colonial, neoclassical and baroque style civil and religious buildings. Throughout the tour your guide will provide you with an informative and unique perspective of this beloved colonial city.

Day 3: A boat trip through the Isletas of Granada is a great way to explore Lake Cocibolca, the great lake of Nicaragua.  We’ll pick you up from your hotel and take you to Cabaña Amarilla harbor where you will board a private motor boat and explore Las Isletas of Granada.  These consist of around 365 small volcanic islands which were formed when the Mombacho Volcano erupted about 20,000 years ago. Today, many of the small islands are inhabited by families who make their living from fishing, while other islands play host to extravagant villas owned by Nicaragua’s rich and famous.

Day 4: Check out of your hotel as we pick you up for your private transfer to Nicaragua’s best known beach town, San Juan del Sur, on the southern Pacific Coast.  Your hotel here will be La Posada Azul. La Posada Azul Hotel is located just steps from the beach in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua. The property has been converted from a historic, wooden home into a charming boutique hotel with just seven elegantly appointed rooms.

Day 5-6: Spend today relaxing on the beach or by the pool. Surfing, sailing, fishing and horseback riding are all within easy access as well.

Day 7: We’ll pick you up after lunch for your transfer back to Granada, to be closer to the airport on your final night. You’ll return to the charming Patio del Malinche for your last night in Nicaragua.

Day 8: Transfer back to Managua Airport for your flight home (approx 45 minutes).
